Specops Brand Super Sheath
The flaps can stretch to where the pouch will hold 10 shot 1911 mags like the Chip McCormick types favored by survivors who use 1911 pistols in the field. The loops on the back of the pouch also will work in the horizontal position which is better for concealment or conventional vertical position. The pouch is MOLLE/PALS compatible. |
$15 (single cell) Available here in OD or
black.
$22 (double cell) Will fit pocket pliers tools from most makers and handgun magazines for most handguns. Highly versatile and adjustable.

Built with the military user in mind, the Combat master will hold Kabar type full sized combat and survival knives. It can also handle some slightly longer blades. The hilt keeper is adjustable to compensate for cord wrapped or custom handles on these knives. A large accessory pouch will hold even the larger size multi-tools and diamond hone stones. The edge has paracord for lashing down flat on all MOLLE/PALS compatible gear in addition to enough extra length at the bottom to serve as a leg strap. The upper belt loops are compatible with just about any sort of belt attachment system. Available colors are Black and OD Green. Each sheath has a stiff plastic liner to protect against the blade pushing through. |

Gerber Applegate Combat Folder This is one of the largest and most
practical The handling and balance was designed by Rex Applegate to make the knife well suited for several different knife fighting styles but most importantly, the knife is large enough to be useful as a utility knife while most other "combat folding" knives simply are not. If a knife is not sufficiently large enough to use to cut up a good big steak, then definitely don't expect it to be useful in cutting up anything larger. You will notice that there is no other model of folding utility knife offered here at savvysurvivor.com I own and have owned just about everything else out there on the knife market and find this to be the absolute no compromise best, regardless of what else out there is more expensive or cheaper. If you can find these cheaper elsewhere, then more power to you. I keep these in stock for immediate shipment. |
$99 Comes with nylon sheath. Made in USA. |

Premium leather gloves with padded knuckle and finger area for protection against abrasion. Optional liners are woven with Kevlar to reduce cuts. The granular material in the knuckles is heavy, and makes these excellent bag gloves and training gloves. Not safe for full contact sparring without pads. The knuckle protection is great for those who are still in the "learning curve" with stick type weapons like Escrima sticks, Nunchaku, and Bokken. May not be legal in some areas. Kevlar liners sold separately, one size fits most. |

Here is one of the design
prototypes for the OSI combat survival knife. Final production has
not been solidified yet, but the knives will be offered in three
grades. This will be the best of utility survival knife that you can
be as comfortable with in the kitchen as well as strapped to your tactical
vest.
US custom made - $300 to $500 each. Hand ground with exotic wood handles. Leather sheath. Made by the artist/bladesmith Lowell Lockett
US production made - $80 to $150 each. Synthetic sheath.
Import production - $40 each. Sheath TBA.
The OSI survival knife
prototype here is a hand made custom knife by LC Lockett. It is
unique in that it utilizes thinner than average stock material (440 stainless)
for the blade while maintaining a large profile. This saves weight and
gives better control while cutting softer meats like fish. Careful
tempering and heat treating give the blade strength and durability, but it was
not designed to replace the axe.
The double hilt design was modified to allow for several grip options to allow for full control of the blade in a number of tasks. The handle is longer than most knives of this type in order to give a better balance and allow for a two handed grip in some circumstances. I am still working on some options for sheath designs as the conventional Bowie type sheath will not be used in production models.
My
personal prototype has panels made from California Buckeye Burl.
Production models will most likely have a synthetic handle, but custom models
have the buyer's choice of handle materials.
Mr. Lockett is a graduate of the American Bladesmith society school or Washington Arkansas where James Black made Jim Bowie's famous knife. My Lockett can make knives to your specifications and we have some of his works in stock. Contact him at spur@outdrs.net .
